Software for Subtitles in Theatre

Introduction
The subtitle web application a collaboration with the Mova Association, marks a significant step in the NGO's expansion. Mova employs translators, aids refugees, and aims to increase accessibility in theaters, attracting more audiences to performances.
Problem
In 2022, Poland received over a million non-Polish-speaking refugees. Simultaneously, an increasing number of individuals face hearing issues. Many cultural centers aim to improve their accessibility by introducing subtitles. However, the problem lies in the absence of an optimal solution available in the market.
Challenge
Due to the lack of an optimal solution, the challenge lies in designing a software that offers flexibility in presenting subtitles for both theaters and events. This calls for a solution that not only addresses current gaps but also anticipates future needs, ensuring a seamless and adaptable experience for both operators and audiences.

Lessons Learned
The project is still in progress, and although it hasn't been completed yet, I've gained valuable insights while working on this software. This marks my first venture into software design, a departure from my usual focus on mobile applications or websites.
Theater Insights
Engaging with the theater industry broadened my perspective on subtitles presentation. Through interviews, I gained clarity on the project's functionality and essential features. These conversations with operators also helped identify their needs, guiding my focus towards finding effective solutions.
Software Examination
A noteworthy achievement was the examination of existing software. This not only inspired the design process but also revealed that current programs have their flaws and still require improvement. This attention to detail positions us to meet user expectations and stand out in the market.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Collaborating with a client with extensive theater experience and high expectations for the project's functionality and appearance was crucial. This ongoing collaboration is allowing us to continually refine the software, learn together, and strategize how to successfully introduce it to theaters.
