Intro
An application for looking for parties and going out helps users find social events and activities in their area based on their preferences. Users can browse events, filter them, and plan their outing by purchasing tickets, and connecting with other attendees.

Introduction

Background:

Everyone likes to go out with friends after work. We are looking for events, parties or art exhibitions. How are we choosing between options? There are a lot of options, and choosing anything may be difficult. Would it be great if we could have one source providing all information? Where to go? How much does it cost? How can we pay for it?

Challenge:

Looking for the best place to go out may be frustrating and complicated for many of us. With so many options on different platforms and websites, it may take time to decide where we want to go today. Sometimes we don’t even have time to look for it. So my goal was to create an application that combines all vital information to decide: Where should we go out today?

Problem to solve:

  • We have a lot of sources of events, and we don’t know where to look for them;
  • We want to buy tickets as soon as possible, but we don’t know where or how to do this;

Target audience:

  • Everyone who wants to go out;
  • People who find it challenging to decide where to go;
  • Everyone who wants to buy tickets online;

Sometimes I spend all night deciding where to go. I try to call friends and ask them where they are so we can meet. Knowing from the beginning if a place is worth going to, would be amazing.

Qualitative Research

After sending the survey, I selected a few users interested in discussing their previous experiences. It helped me to understand better their “pains&gains” which there are facing on events websites.

Questions related to choosing events:

  • How do you look for events?
  • How do you pay for tickets/entries?
  • Do you prefer to do it online or at ticket points?
  • Do you think it is challenging to find the best place to go?  If yes, why?
  • Do you use any application or website that helps to find a suitable event for you?
  • What process do you follow looking for/choosing events? Please describe it step by step.
  • What are the most challenging things when deciding where to go out?
  • What are your pain points and frustrations while choosing?
  • What is the best/ the worst thing about those applications/websites?
  • What do you expect from the application/website?
  • Try to think about a situation where you visited a website, and something was frustrating. What was it?
  • What helped you in solving that problem?
  • Imagine the best solution to your problem. What would it be?

Questions related to going out:

  • How often do you go out?
  • Where do you go out?
  • What is your favourite event?
  • Who do you go out with?
  • Do you pay for tickets by card or in cash?

Looking for an Event

After launching the application, the user has access to events. They can choose the range that interests them, whether they're looking for something for today, this weekend, or this month. By accessing a specific event, the user can purchase tickets. They have the option to send the tickets to friends or open them within the application.

Profile and Search

In the application, the user creates their profile, from which they have access to purchased tickets. They can also search for events and filter them by event type, music genre, format of the meeting, and location.

Summary

The primary goal of this application is to help users to find events and buy tickets. In the beginning, the most important was the interviews. This process helped me to connect with users and impacted the design. I tried to design the best solutions for the easy purchase of tickets just in a few steps.

I managed to combine my expectations with users' needs, and I learned that a good application does not only have nice pictures and colours but also has to be easy to use and satisfy everyone who uses it.
